Long ago, as a gesture of peace, the Chinese Emperor gifted a giant panda to the Japanese Imperial court. Now, you and your fellow players have been entrusted with the care of this sacred animal and the cultivation of its bamboo garden.
In Takenoko, players work to create the most impressive bamboo garden by cultivating plots of land, irrigating them, and growing three types of bamboo: Green, Yellow, and Pink. With the help of the Imperial gardener, you’ll nurture the bamboo while managing the panda’s insatiable appetite for its tender shoots.
Balance your resources, fulfil objectives, and adapt to the panda’s whims to outsmart your opponents. The player who best tends the garden and satisfies the panda wins the Emperor’s favour—and the game!
